  1. O.k. Ladies- after organizing Thanksgiving for work, birthday party for 93 year old grandfather, shopping for 30 gifts for Christmas and the list goes on and on... I think I am finally almost organized for this!

These are the ladies I have listed who are interested, let me know if I missed anyone!

    Diane Blake
    Cheryl Keyes
    Jill Ruskamp
    Laurie Owens
    LuAnn Summers
    Leveta Kirk
    Linda Hill
    Judy Plummer
    Lorene Darling
    Janelle Roberts
    Robelyn Dorman
    Connie Abraham
    Tina Salvage
    Heidi-momlcntrt (need your information!)
    Debra Packard

I will be sending everyone a name and address of someone to send your ornament to. It's up to you what you would like to make your ornament out of, preferably things lying around the house, junk style.
I can't make a deadline for you, but I think the sooner the better... and when you get your ornament, please post a pix if possible to share with everyone else!

Any other questions, let me know...look for an e-mail from me on Monday or Tuesday. Thanks ladies!

  18. Merry Christmas! Here is a picture of the wonderful ornament I received from Jillruth. I wish I could of taken a picture of it on my tree but, my tree isn't up yet! It's made from vintage hooks, eyes & snaps, old bead chain & some jewels. She even made the card! My ornament will be off in the mail tomorrow!

  20. I just received mine from Cheryl Keyes! Her Mom crocheted the pretty snowflake and she made the little present pockets using vintage buttons. My two littlest gals took off with the little pockets and I had to get them back for a picture. Thanks so much Cheryl!

Gosh, all the ornies are so cute.. and everyone has done a great job using recyled items..
I wanted to tell you guys, and I meant to take a pic but forgot.. I went to one of the large markets in our area.. Krogers..
and they had the cutes things hanging outside.. it looked like they took a large green styrofoam ball and stuck small greens from Evergreen trees.. and then added some Christmas glittery items like some pretty ribbon, ornies. and then they hung it from a hook outside the store.. I do not think these would be hard to make.. they were asking about $20.00 each for them.. seems like you would just cut or gather greens and stick the ends into the ball with maybe some glue on the ends of the greens.. and then add some Christmas picks. more than likely make it for almost the cost of the styrofoam ball little left over ribbon and some glittery stuff.
I would say they were about big around as the small waltermelons you see in the summer.. or a large honeydew.. If not for this year.. something to think about for next year.. so Iam putting this in my next year file..I would think they would hold up for a while as it seems evergreens last a long time during the winter months.

Also, don't want to give away who I sent my ornie's to, but hope it was packed well enough. Got to the post office with out my tissue/bubble wrap. :( So, if it doesn't make it let me know and I will send off another one!

We went to one of the little towns nearby to do a little shopping and they had hung the wire plant baskets and filled them with ornaments and draped the string pearls all over hanging down aqnd they looked so pretty in the lights at night. Just a quick idea I think I will try to do next year.

  32. Hey Hillbilly: Could you send me the address of mine again?? I cannot find it. I know who it is, just no the address. I am way behind -- you would think with all the snow days this week that I would have been caught up!!

    thanks ~ Janelle

    Posted 3 years ago #
  33. Janelle- I just sent you an email to your school address. When we have snow days I tend to do nothing instead of everything! I've been looking around at all the things I needed to get done and didn't on those two days!

Everyone- the ornaments are great! Hope it worked out well for everyone!

PS-loved the small "old" box they were placed in. I'll keep that too!

I tore open the box and found the cutest little angel and wreath made (of course) from junk (I mean treasures)!! And covers for my blue canning jars ( how did you know)? Debra I love them! And sorry it took so long to get back to you. Will post pics soon. Thanks Diane

deb.the covering on the light bulb is a napkin seperated into 1 ply. i love making then and you can really play aroung with diffrent bulbs and napkins or paper. i do enjoy making them and the things you can use for emblishments is numerous. glad to see it made it without breaking

Sue - Thanks! I used an old light reflector and glued an old button to the front and glued a silver pipe cleaner around it. Of course, I covered up the hole in the back by gluing a piece of cardstock that I cut a circle from, initialed it and added the year. I used thin wire and attached a small bell to the bottom. Linda
