Most people I know are decorated for Christmas by Thanksgiving. In fact, one of my neighbors has lights up already. And I thought I decorated early.

I have heard Thanksgiving called "The Forgotten Holiday". But to me, I love it more than Christmas. It is before the Christmas rush. It is not about gifts as much as it is about family. I even love the sound of football games on TV. And I don't like football. The excitement of Christmas is still in the air. And the focus is thankfulness.

Yep, I agree with Blossom - except for standing in the kitchen for about two days getting the food ready - I LOVE Thanksgiving!

  10. Love the pix Linda! I will admit, I was the guilty party and put my Christmas lights up this weekend. It was beautiful in Iowa... almost 70 degrees (trust me, that's WAY above normal for November... last year we had snow the same weekend I think!)

I'm not going to turn my lights on until December, it just makes hanging lights more tolerable than in 30 degrees!

  11. i remove the witches and bats, etc from halloween...and leave the pumpkins and fall leaves. i have some spindle planters i made a few years ago, and i hate to admit that this summer, and now this fall, i'm using artificial flowers. nobody noticed this summer until i pointed it out, they thought my flowers were just doing VERY well :D i have sunflowers and small maroon flowers in the galvanized buckets screwed to the spindles. by Christmas i'll change to fake magnolias and grapevine and baby's breath, etc. oh yeah, grapevine door wreath with same sunflowers etc.
