  1. I am sure some of you have done a Christmas Tree Walk/Parade of Trees. We have one in our community and I did it a few years back. I am thinking of doing it again. Any ideas for junky/handmade ornaments? Themes??

    thanks!

I have a bunch of 45 records and am thinking of doing a tree with them. I saw this at a store I went to in Kentucky. It was simple but very cute. They just poked the end of the branch through the center of the record. I am hoping to find some music note ribbon or am thinking hot pink for a 50's theme. I really want a pink tree. (keep looking at one they have at Big Lots)
Small trees with old costume jewelry (clip on earrings, etc) is very pretty too.

  4. those are great ideas!! I love my boys but always wished I had a girl too so that I could do a cute pink tree in her room.

I got inspired last night as I was cleaning up from my sale. I think that I am going to use a shabby white/lt blue theme. I think I am going to put my tree inside of an old light blue box (kind of as a tree stand) and decorate it with small barn stars covered in old book pages, blingy blue snowlfakes embellished with buttons, etc. I will have to find more ornaments but that is where I am at right now. I am going to use to sets of white shutters as my backdrop and maybe hang light blue ceiling tin on those (among other things). I have a shabby little cupboard that I am going to hang two stockeding from...this is just a start! Have lots to do to get ready for it!

I just have a boy too!(away at college) So I guess whenever I get a chance to do pink I do it!lol
I love the blue white idea. Some blue willow tea cups would look pretty hanging. Also, my friend put blue lights only on her tree and it was stunning. Your idea sounds lovely.

the kids art teacher had them use old cd's, decorate with glitter and puff paint and add their pictures in the center and hung from a matching ribbon....very cute....inexpensive if you get demo cd's in the mail alot, too. could maybe switch out kids pic idea with your own theme of pictures?? would work on records too but not as glitzy-shiny as cd's are?!!
