That is too cute! I have a pair...a little boy in jeans and cowboy hat and a little girl in jean overalls. I didn't make them, though! I saw some online that are selling for $65.

huggy just out of plain old nosey curiosity....how much did you sell the dolls for back when they were the hot property...it's interesting that cowpalace saw them still going kinda high priced now!!! wow!!

maybe you need to crank up the assembly line again, huggy!!!

I sold mine for $45.00 and up depending on what all they wanted with the doll.. I made one to look like a bride and she had on a beautiful wedding dress, white shoes, veil with beads etc.. long brown curly hair and since it was a veil, I had to put a full head of hair on her.. each group of strands of hair were glued on the head. some wanted the doll to look like their grandchild or son or daughter and if depended on the hair color if I could find it.. if I just used GW finds for the clothes and shoes then I just charged $45.00 But most of the girls I made all the dresses for the dolls so they would fit nicely.. I have thought about making a few more, seems like they are coming back some.. mine were all stuffing..no wood in the legs etc,.. all nice and cuddly...but yet can stand in corner for years and not have the legs give way.. each dress had a slip that I made for it and they had on tights with a little butt added with stuffing.. so they look more real.. I would do football and basketball and baseball teams colors. sometimes the little girls would have teddybears in their one hand and the other over her face. boys would have sling shots in their back pockets with frogs and worms sticking out... I must say I did have a lot of fun with them.. and when I would drive down the road to a craft show.. I would have them lined up in the back seat of my car and folks would look at me.. Like hey lady why are't those kids in car seats.. LOL I was telling Lev I wish I had a couple made I would take them to her shop for her.. but I do not have time to make them now.. speaking of assembly line that is just what I did.. cut them all out and then sewed them all up and stuffed them and then started to chose what kind of doll it would be...LOL Okay , I will stop ...... just sometimes I get carried away when I like what I do.

Huggy, your dolls sound awesome! I can't imagine the time it would take to make a 'custom' doll. If I have a chance, I'll take a pic of the two I have. The little girl has braids. So cute!

Cowpalace, I would love to see the ones you have... It did take a lot of time to make.. I have seen some that were only made with PJs and just stuffed with some wood and stuffing.. not to cute.. and made up my mind if I was going to make mine they would look good. and be worth the money I asked for them.. The money sure did come in handy.. only thing , my grandson was younger then and when I sold them he wanted to know were all the kids went. LOL and one time I had one leaning in a corner and couple of the guys were working at the house with my son and they used a cuss word and just out of the corner of his eye he caught sight of the little doll and said oops I am sorry little guy.. my son almost fell off the ladder laughing.. and then one other time I had one at the Ford Store and had him leaning up against a car's bumper and he was dressed in yellow sweat outfit with a ND college Football hat on and my boss came out to the showroom and was looking around and saw the doll and thought it was a little boy and went up to him and said " honey did you lose your Mommy? I almost fell off my chair at my desk laughing and so did all the salesmen.. needless to say.. Boss went back in his office and stayed the rest of the day...

    Huggy,

So much detail in your doll!!! The beautiful dress, the shoes!!! Much upgraded from any I have seen. My mother has one...can't touch it!

Love your stories about "fooling the eye" with your dolls.

These are the pics of the time-out dolls I have. I took them with my cell phone, so the quality isn't that good. They are really cute dolls!
