So I am apart of a local yard sale site, its like a yard sale online (its great I made good money off of it!) I saw these people selling tin stars.. bunch of them for an offer. I asked them what they wanted.. 10.00 seems fair right? some where painted so I will have to repaint them. (painted with a brush and acrylic paint yuck)

    I gave my Mom 11 of them.. I have 27.. so 38 for 10.00!

I will sell some of them.. but wow.. what a deal!

Becky--those are great stars. With all the scrapbooking paper out there now you could match just about any decor you wanted. Lucky you, jcreviston, you already have the main thing you need for this project--stars! And you got such a great deal on them too,.

You bet--which is what keeps all of junkers getting up at the crack of dawn to go to garage sales, flea markets and salvage yard!

  16. I am glad the link was helpful! I saw on someone's blog that they found metal stars at their dollar store-- there aren't any at my local dollar store, but we don't have a great one. It's worth a try!

  17. What a great find!!! I also have a few stars at home and thought of covering them with old cutter quilt pieces... kinda like the scrapbook paper idea... some spray adhesive and it gives new life to ordinary stars!

  19. I checked out your blog, I love that technique! The stain just makes the project look finished :D
I've been trying to make those stars with vintage maps that were my father's, cutting them from posterboard, but...I can't get the points right yet!
