  1. HI Everyone! Does anyone have any tips for places to junk in the Lakes Region of NH...besides the Davisville Flea Market, Queeche Gorge Flea Market and the Sal Army? I am also looking for a Vintage "Canned Ham" to restore...any ideas where to find one besides "midnight shopping" in the cornfield up the street? Jeannine

    Jeannine:

First of all welcome to the site. One of the ladies in our office just purchased one of those "canned hams" last week for would you believe $250.00. Didn't know they were still around??

Welcome Jeannine, love the term "canned ham" for the trailer, as much as I love those little trailers.
I bought a big roll of metal ridged flashing at a yard sale and the first think that came to mind was an old camper so I got to work and made some camper birdhouses.I even found some vintage fabric to make curtains for the little plexiglass window.
I like to think "Migratory" birds will use these LOLOL
Hope you find your canned ham soon.

  9. Only been to NH once, for a friends wedding... LOVED it out there, so beautiful! And couldn't believe the prices on things... stuff we have in the Midwest I could sell for a dime a dozen was crazy expensive there.

I love visiting other parts of the states to see the varation of goodies!

Good luck finding the canned ham! :)

  10. Hi and thanks for all of the warm welcomes! I have seen so many of the cannned hams sitting rusting away on the back roads of NH...I just haven't gotten up the nerve to knock on the door and ask if I could "take it off their hands" I don't want to insult anyone, don't want to get shot for tresspassing....plus, I'm not sure how it would look sitting in the driveway of a half a million dollar house we are trying to sell! Maybe I could cover it with a Porshe car cover or something!!!! Who think there should be a "Housewives of the trailer park" or "hillbilly housewives" like the "housewives of Atlanta" on Bravo...I think that would be much more interesting!
