I hit upon my favorite kind of sale today. People just wanting to get rid of stuff. They didn't have a lot of things priced and when I asked "how much?" the guy kept saying "how about a buck?" Well how about it indeed!!! I got an old army telephone, 20 license plates, 2 type setter drawers, 5 old safety deposit box fronts, a canvas bag full of leaf shaped drawer pulls and some kind of brass tags from the Canyon Hotel and my favorite find a 9 and a half foot Safety Deposit sign. The guy wanted $5 for the sign. Oh and I got some assorted glass vases not pictured.
Let me tell ya I'm feeling good today, almost like having new socks and underwear at the same time LOL

WOW! That IS an amazing haul. I especially love the safe deposit sign and the old phone. Congrats!

WOW! How come I never find sales like that? Love all of your goodies. As a matter of fact we just got home from lurking in an antique mall and they had the same phone priced at 40$. I have a bank I made from a post office box front that looks a lot like the safe deposit box fronts you got.

Yeah, I'm still excited.
Lovecrafting, those are P.O. Box fronts. I didn't realize I said safety deposit box fronts, guess I was still giddy about my sign LOL

FABULOUS!! I would have been thrilled! Do you re-sell or just collect? I paid $10 for a printers box yesterday and for another one today. I know--not a bargain but I don't see them for less. AND I like them.

What a perfect place for that awesome sign! I love the double arches that lead to your front door and dining room and how you used that space. I also love the double meaning I think of when I see your sign: Each time you or someone you love steps through your front door, the will have safely deposited themselves into "home"...always a safe haven.

Aha ha ha ha!!! Love that sign!! Of course my mind immediately went along a different route - I think because my husband just had his vasectomy numbers checked!!! Ha Ha Ha!! Oh my, I have the giggles tonight.
Anyway, this is my first post and I"m so happy to have found you guys. I've spent weeks reading about and enjoying all of your junk finds, cool transformations, and wonderful attitudes you seem to have. I hope I'm welcome even if I'm having dirty thoughts tonight. :0) I'm usually a nice, quiet stay-at-home mom to our 5 children. I adore yard sales and trying to copy all of the great things you guys make.

7 Peas, how cute, I definitely was NOT thinking that type of deposit, but I can certainly relate. My husband had the same type of procedure done a few years ago and we were counting the days (or deposits) until we were SAFE. ROTFLMBO!!!
