  1. I was given several pieces of enamelware including some pots, a large bowl that has rust and holes in the bottom, and a few rectangular dish/pan type pieces. I know my first instinct was to plant in them, but I feel like I do that with everything. I will try to go out and take a picture of the lot and post it soon. I just need ideas what to do with them cause right now they are just sitting there.

  2. I just had a birthday party for my kids and used all my blue swirl pieces to hold my silverware, plates, cups, condiments...

I've hung quite a few washpans on my front porch on one wall... some very sad ones, but as a group they look better...

dog/cat dishes, gardening caddies... just off the top of my head- post some pix and see what else you get... LucKy YoU!!!

  4. oooo- I really like the cream and green bowl!!! I'd wash that up, put it in the kitchen and add some apples and oranges.

Then I'd take the cream and green roaster pan, chalkboard paint the outside bottom and hang it on the wall for a message area... and maybe the smaller one right beside it painted too, or put a decal on it and make it a grouping.

Then the saucepans, I might put outside on my patio table with candles in them...

The last white and blue piece... I'd probably put on my front porch with Country Living magazines in it for a quick organized read...

Those are a few of my ideas...

  5. yes, the bowl is probably my fave too! It is really rusty in the bottom and has some small holes. I already have a chalk board in my kitchen or I would totally have done the chalk board idea....actually it is one of my re-do's...off topic, but I had a key box in the kitchen that had a mirror on the door. I couldn't stand walking by the mirror all the time so I decided to paint it into a chalk board! Love it! How would you hang these on a wall? plate holders? I can't think of any other way.

  6. I'd just take a drill bit and drill a hole in the handle and hang it with a screw... I use a lot of screws and make a lot of holes in my walls... but then I repaint them about every other year... so...

I'd put a nice vintage towel or washcloth in the bottom of the bowl and still use if for fruit... too bad it was loved so much by someone else!

I saw some pics recently where they had taken a large enamelware pot for the bottom and an enamelware teapot for the spout and multiple enamelware pieces stacked together and made a fountain. It was really cute. In one of them, they put an old washboard at the back from which to attach the various enamelware pieces.

  8. I was thinking candle to with the pots. But i'd hang it by handle and maybe but ribbon or some kind of pretty on it and put a tealight or something on that order in the curve of it...

i like to use them to coral things. i have a roaster pan next to my stove with spices in it. i hate a lot of clutter but like things within easy reach. i had a small roasting pan and did it up for a friend of mine that likes starbucks. added a starbucks mug and travel mug, some sugar in the raw packets, some of those individual flavored creamer packs, some chocolate sticks, and of course a bag of starbucks coffee.
