I have a 12 pane window that hubby brought home from a job that is pretty large and it's still sitting outside - not sure what I want to do with it. I would love just to bring it in after I clean it up and stand it against the wall near the corner behind my lamp and end table but not sure if hubby would go for that!!!!

I've recently painted my livingroom chocolate brown, and I'm going to do something amazing with a big old window on the wall behind my sofa...Thanks for another idea to add to my list!

I still haven't done anything with that 12 pane window yet. We've been too busy working on the outside - installing a new paver sidewalk, weeding, mulching but the sidewalk should be done today so maybe one day when he is not home, I will clean it up and try to carry it up the stairs into the house!!!

Breznlin, your life sounds like mine right now--busy outside. My sisters and I were looking at a gardening magazine last night and found a paned window used as a garden gate. It was great.

  11. My Grandma made mats to go in each frame of a triple paned window for pictures. It was a big window and had different sized openings for different sized photos. I have since taken the mats out and replaced with mirror. It hangs with thick cording. I will try to post a pic a bit later.

My window still has all the glass in it so it's a heavy bugger. I'm hoping to clean it up this Friday since I took a vacation day to clean my house but we did get the sidewalk done over the weekend! Still have to clean up the mess from the sidewalk project - like dirt, stone, sand, and some large rocks that were originally the sidewalk....it's never ending.

  13. Here's the window...it doesn't have all of the mirror in yet. The round thing it's hanging from is a huge button cover.

I've been collecting old windows so that I can make a conservatory out of them. Linda Smith sells them in Canton, Texas, and they are gorgeous and so unique. Here is her website: http://web.mac.com/lindasbluegate/iWeb/LInda%27s%20Blue%20Gate/home.html

  19. After we replaced the windows of my old house a few years ago, I gave away over 60 large wooden windows. Don't throw tomatoes!

my husband has a fit when i mess with a flag.. "It should be retired" meaning a ceremony where the boyscouts or VFW burn the flags. Although i did take an older flag and attach to the back of a window but heaven forbid if i had cut it. Diane

  24. i did think about that, but i decided that keeping it and using it was better than burning it !
