I have a picture clipped from a magazine where they used a set of old china dishes buried half way in the ground, one next to the other as a flower garden border. I'm on the lookout for a set to use. I have "planted" old spoons and forks with interesting handles in the garden for visitors to spy.

Tricia - I have seen that picture and that is adorable! I've thought about doing that around my front porch (it's not a big one) but every time I haul a plate home I can't bring myself to put it in the ground!!!

Fjerda has a plate border along the sidewalk leading up to her B&B and tea room. Any chance of a picture, Fjerda????

I have seen that too... and with our decal machine I wanted to print letters to decal on the plates that say 'welcome' or something... just haven't gotten around to it yet!

I've seen those and they really look cute. I'm just wondering about weedeating around them, though. (SecondHandRosie - who made her mailbox post look like the beavers ate it....)

I got to thinking that in my stash I have a set of scallop shape sea shells, probably about a dozen, that I bought at a garage sale, that might make a nice border or display. (they were supposed to be used for serving seafood.
