Here's the purple chair before - really nothing wrong with it -- and after. The flower 'pot' is one of the little chick feeders. The plant stand was 3 pieces. I was going to use them all for something else, but when I started taking it apart to get all the screws out, it just seemed like I should put it back together again. It didn't want to be painted, either, even though I thought it should be black. Some things just speak to you.

Did you hand paint the chair??

That feeder makes a cool looking flower vase. I love the chair too.

The chair is adorable. The flowers in the chicken feeder compliment the paint so nicely. The plant stand is cool just how it is too.

Yup, I hand painted the chair with a brush and lots of blue painter's tape. Glad you like it. It's pretty funky!
For the plant stand I just sanded the old varnish off all the pieces before reconstructing, then went over the whole thing with gel stain. I have a really nice HVLP paint sprayer but haven't used it enough to be good with it and am not very good with cans of spray paint, either. I guess I need more practice.

Me either, good with spray paint. But I got a good spray handle for on the can and it makes a BIG difference... Do you use the sponge brushes or reg. brushes??

This time I used a sponge brush, but sometimes I use a regular bristle brush. Kind of depends on what I find on my shelf.
