I bought an industrial laundry cart at a garage sale yesterday. It came from a dry cleaner, but was retired to a barn almost 30 years ago. I looked it over, loved it, but was gonna pass it by. I don't have a need, or room, or imagination enough to repurpose it. That is...insert dramatic pause...., I asked the price. TEN BUCKS!

It's in the shop now, surrounded by buckets and boxes. Anything to keep my Great Dane from peeing on it. I'll most likely sell it, but for now I'm studying every inch of it. I love it!

So, do any of you have one? Know someone who does, and how are they using them, etc.?

What did y'all find this weekend?

  2. It is sort of in the same class as my fresh from the curbside multi colored chippy paint baby playpen that is way too old and out of date for a real baby - cool but what do you do with it? What did you do run out of closet space??? I suppose you could put a tall baby in that mail cart to play if you don't love the kid... At least he can't stick his head through the cracks and strangle - maybe he could breathe in the moldy air from the cart's fabric & get sick... display??? junk storage??? shop from a barrel type thing??? laundry holder for a family of 9??? a huge lamp? pull off fabric and reuse it for something then add a glass top then use the cart for a table??? turn it upside down and make a play house??? hhhmmmm no door... Christmas tree holder and space for presents for a big family? Now if I was still a kid I would rip off some of that canvas and then find a nice hill to ride down.... rip off some canvas, make it into a couch/chair? Chicken coop? Waterproof it and use it to collect rain water to water your garden.... (we haven't had rain since maybe April...)

  3. AH I know what to do with that... cut a flap (needs to be a secret flap.) Then set the inside up as a computer station or private get away for mom...

Chicken coop translates to chicken poop, so prolly not, but I like the way you think, Copperhead!

Copperhead, it's 35" tall and the open top measures 37"x27". It's big. I like your lamp idea. Course it wouldn't work in a regular residence. I see it hanging in a loft, industrial themed store, restaurant, etc.

Levita, table, yep. Or a service cart in a restaurant or outdoor kitchen for silverware, condiments, etc. Oh! Or a store display with plywood top and piles of clearance sweaters.

Copperhead you've got my mental gears switched on with your ideas. Thanks.
