My husband and I are flying to Red Wing, along with DD1 and DS to register them into Southeast Technical School for instrument repair. My question where to go junking, if I get the chance. We will be there July 9 through the 12th. Any ideas?

First of all, get a copy of "Old Tmes" - free monthly paper that will give you the scoop on antiquing adventures in Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Many antique shops will have a stack of these for the taking. It lists by town, city and region. I use this often to map out my trip.
There are a number of shops to explore right in Redwing, Hastings is not far, with more fun shops in the historic downtown. And, Stillwater is north...again, not far....well worth a visit. Each of these Minnesota cities offer hours of exploing. Of course, the twin cities are just north with fabulous little antique destinations around.
Hope that gives you a start.

Hi Ladies, we're back from Minnesota. What a trip! Red Wing is beautiful! They were having the pottery show while we were there. Oh if the crocks would have fit in the overhead bin (and my wallet). I made it to 2 Salvation Army's (got 2 little tree climbing squirrels to add to my collection, 99cents each!) And got to go through Al's Antique Mall. Oh My it just keeps going and he has a LOT of everything! They were having a flea market outside the pottery plant and I picked up some silverware for jewelry and my son found an old Thunderbird hubcap for $2.50. He wants to make a clock out of it for a friend. Everyone was so friendly and the food was great. Even went on a boat cruise and saw Eagles and their nests!

Our good friends, neighbors here on the farm belong to that MN Redwing deal and everyyear they go to it and think his wife heads and hits some shopping for scrapbooking and more.. Maybe you have even met them in that group or your husband has. Doug and Piper Perkins, Aneta, ND??

luv2farmnd welcome to Junk revolution. I've only been to Red Wing the one time, the kids are going to school there next fall (2013) so we will get to visit again then. It was a very welcoming little town and I can't wait to visit again. I'm hoping to get to the Junk Bonanza during that year.
