HossFly bought these new at a yard sale a couple years ago, I think $5 or so for all of them. I got tired of picking them up each time I had to weedeat, so now I'm making something out of them. Captured Fairy LANTERNS! gonna be purty! But there's something like 24 or so of these suckers. What would you make?

The captured fairies sound so adorable and please post pictures when you complete some of them. As talented as you are it won't take you long to come up with something neat for the other lanterns. We love to view your creations! Jan

i think making a few "bug versions" would be cute for boys rooms...like a camping theme?
i'd love to have a few of those just to hang some candles from the porch or a tree in the yard!!Posted 4 years ago # -
You could almost use them like cloches. It would be cute to do some with a garden theme.

Can't wait to see the "captured fairy" lanterns. I'd like to make some for the 2 small girls next door. They are always out trying to catch dragon flys. I've told them as the story goes--fairies fly of the back of dragon flies. Pics please!!!

I would love to see pics of your captured fairies. I made a fairy door for my tree, but don't think I've seen captured fairies.Maybe I'll have to wait outside my fairy door with a net and a jar LOL

Love the fairies! For some reason I was thinking twinkly lights? I just bought 3 old lanterns without the cap on the fuel tank. This might be an option. Love the fairy door also! Looks like a very happy fairy family live there. Diane

Linda--that is very cute! My little girls would love that. Think of the stories you could make up around it!

Thanks for the pic Maggie, she's too cute!
gigi, I ripped down a piece of 1x Cedar to make individual slats about an 1/8" thick then glued them on a piece of about 6"X8"X 1/8" thick piece of paneling. I cut out the door frame out of a 1"X10" piece of cedar laid that over the top of the glued down slats and traced aroud the outside. Cut the slatted piece to size then attached everything with wood and nails.Does that make any sense to anyone but me? LOL Tell you what C'mon over and I'll show you!

Kudzu they turned out so cute...Love the color...

Kudzu they are just darling. Have you sold them or made them for your own? If you've sold, are they selling well? Do people "get" the fairy stuff that we just LOVE??? I've been entertaining doing some with my antique bottles and jars, just not sure how they'd go-over in my parts...

Linda Paintwife - your fairy door is so cute - sorry that I missed it before. I just love that. Perhaps you could sell the parts and pieces as a set - kinda like the eyes, nose and mouth that sells in stores????
