I just made this plant stand (the paint is still wet) but I'm not sure if I want to add some chandelier crystals or not. The gold trim near the top has the perfect places to hang them. What do you think?

small white christmas lights attached to the underside of the trim would also look pretty at night w/the light poking out thru the holes!
i could also see a pretty ivy vine wrapping the base or maybe even real vinca vine?
good job...no matter what you add to it!!

I added the crystals and I love the way it came out. Thanks for your input! This shows it sitting on my hearth with the candlestand I made earlier. I think they make a great pair.

I went to a local auction and bought 2 chandeiers that were incomplete so I harvested the crystals and sold the carcasses on ebay. I also hit the after Christmas sales and buy any ornaments I can find with crystals. The candlestand has all Christmas ornaments for crystals. They were meant to go on a small tree but look great on there. i got them in a 6 pack for 40 cents on the after Christmas sale at HL. I love anything with crystals so I always snatch them up when I see them.

Is paying a $1 a crystal too much? The ones I saw were about the size of a walnut.

I usually hunt down old chandeliers if I can and harvest crystals but I think 1$ each is pretty reasonable. Some of the vendors at our mall sell them for a lot more than that but I guess it depends on where you live. Thank you for all the compliments.
