I was lucky enough to go the the Junk Bonanza last year with the Red Shed Gals from Texas. I'm finding new uses all the time for the treasures I brought home from this trip. Sure hope they have another trip this year. Anybody know if this is in the works?

  2. I'll bet they will. Give them a call. I'll be there if they are, had so much fun, roomie. Would love to see what you've done with that bicycle, mower, and heater. Did you get any of those really funny small drawers? Ever come up with anything for them, I haven't.

Yes, I did get several of those funny little drawers and I haven't used mine either. Maybe we should post a picture and see if anybody has any ideas.

  6. Those are neat. When I saw the second pic, the first thing that came to mind was 'feet'. Maybe for the clay pot people or scarecrow. Hang it from the 'handle' and put a vase or fingurine inside. I see that it slants but silicone might help.

  7. Hey everyone, if you went to the bonanza, post your "finds" here. I'll add some pics when I get home. Would love to see what everyone else got.

Hey Tinta--when I bought mine feet was what I had in mind. I weld junk people so I thought I could surely find something that needed some feet. If I ever get more junk people made I'll post them.

  9. csudderth, I had a couple little drawers from a desk and I used them as shelves on a wall to display teacup pincushions in my shop. I put the pull knobs up. They look really cute...

love these!! my first thoughts were part of a fountain, water dropping from one to another...curved edge perfect!! or a mini windmill type design..either free standing or attached to an exterior wall??

  12. Regarding the Junk Bonanza...I look forward to attending this year. I was asked to apply as a vendor last summer by one of the committee members -- but decided I needed to "experience" this wonderful event first.

My first thought was to pour them full of wax with maybe 4 wicks and set them in a pair on the mantel. I love the water fountain idea though!

  14. I could see them mounted horizontally on a wall as shelves. Perfect for 'smalls' and use the top surface for 'mediums'. :) Perfect for the outdoor patio area also.

I see the little drawers attached to a piece of barnwood with something painted on the side like a snowman scene and it could be used to hold christmas cards. Or it could be something like a saltox house scene and it could be a letter or bill holder. You could also add a wire handle to make it like a basket or wall pocket and add some primitive goodies like little doll, stars, pip berries or a collection of hearts for Valentines. Diana

  16. How come I never saw those cute drawers? Would they work as wall sconces? You could drill a hole in the bottom which becomes the back, and hang them vertically on the wall. Add a socket of some sort to the inside front which becomes the bottom to hold a small taper candle...how big are the drawers anyway?

Will be posting lots of photos of the 2008 Bonanza on the Junk Bonanza site in a few weeks. You can drool over lots more of last year's goodies! Oh, don't forget 2009 Junk Bonanza will be held at a new location, Canterbury Park, Shakopee MN (just 20 minutes southwest of Minneapolis)

    Peace,
    Ki
