  2. I wish I knew a definitive answer on that. I try to buy "cool" stuff and I buy and sell a range of things. I think industrial type things sell well..I can't keep a wire basket in my booth!I've sold a lot of FireKing jadeite lately but I had a bunch of it and kept my prices reasonable. I just sold a mantle so maybe there is still hope for architectural pieces. I just spent 2 days painting my booth and going from the previous renter's awful coral-red to cream. I am planning to go in a more Frenchy/Shabby/industrial direction ..if you can't beat 'em, join 'em!I try to read magazines to gauge what people might be looking for.

I try my best to cater to as many people as possible. Seems furniture of almost any kind has been a hot seller lately here.

  4. I have a small emerald green painted bookcase I am ready to bring home and redo w/ aqua paint and a backing of bead board or vintage floral wallpaper covered backing. I always think people see the possibilities that I do, but as my friend Debbie says, "Sometimes you have to draw the dots reeeeally close together!"

I'm having one of my best months ever - mostly selling smaller pieces, not too much furniture, although I did just sell a pair of old wood theatre seats that I made a fabulous profit on. Dishes are NOT selling well at all this summer. I agree, the aqua color seems to be pretty hot. I usually have really good luck with mirrors, but I've had a couple of nice large ones in my booths for a few months now and am kind of puzzled as to why they haven't sold.

A few weeks ago I posted a question, "what would you do with these?" little black wood drawers, some with crude hand lettering on them. All I did to them was clean & put on a coat of wax, and I lined the inside with pages from a very old encylopedia. I've sold all of them! So I'm sure going to be on the lookout for more small wood drawers.

I've also sold a couple of large homemade wood tool boxes that I decoupaged with maps, and today I found a whole bunch of old Nat'l Geos with maps at the flea market.

I envy you all. I love to paint and redo items too...but I live in a tiny town that is stuck in the Home Interior Eighties era. Sometimes I get in this funky mood and want to paint something kind of mod or retro. Never had any luck selling it before so I don't do it anymore.
