I have my copy of the fall Flea Market Style magazine. Oh, and it was autographed for me by Ki yesterday at Gold Rush in Oronoco, MN. Ki, it was fun to see you back in Minnesota again. Catch you in September at Junk Bonanza!

Margo, it was good enough that I went back today! Only 45 minutes from home for me. The weather was hot yesterday but not too humid, and today was a perfect August day. And no downpours or floods in the area.
There didn't seem to be as many people walking around as in previous years, but there were cars galore parked everywhere! I'll bet some people walked close to a mile just to get to the town. For those not familiar with this venue, it is a flea market that takes over the entire town. Every yard, every inch of the town is covered with vendors and their stuff. It is awesome.
Quality was great. There was good junk to be found everywhere. I really, really wanted some of the European linen grain sacks a vendor from Florida had. They were clean, pressed and gorgeous. But at $125 and $85, just not in my budget. Overall, prices were the usual. No real great bargains because the economy is bad. A lot of the things I would have bought to resell were already priced at what I would want to sell them for. There were bargains to be found though, and we did manage to spend our money. :) I mostly bought stuff in the rough to use in future projects.

OMG! I had no idea grainsacks had gone up that much. I got some nice blue and red striped ones at the Atlanta flea market 4 years ago for $10 each! I just went and checked Ebay and similar ones are selling for $75! I may have one left, I cut them up and made pillows!

Hope, these were antique European sacks in perfect condition. I had never seen them at that price, either. But then I had never seen any in such beautiful condition. I am used to American ones that maybe have stains and show a lot of use. I especially like the ones with patches.

I actually woke up this morning excited because today is the day I am going out to find the new FMS! It's like a celebration day because when I get it, that day I take a long bath with a glass of wine and just dream! The rest of the time my family has this crazy selfish idea they should be fed and things done around the house!

LOL..those were European grain sacks in perfect condition too..they didn't have stenciling though. I have been toying with stenciling some of my own with some plain American cotton/linen/muslin feedsacks I have..hmmmm. I could not (or would not) afford a $85 feedsack ..I am poor and mostly too cheap!

I really like the tannish ones w/ the black names stenciled on them that I have been seeing in magazines *sigh*

I put FMS in all my stores today - I could hardly stand it - I didn't have time to stand around and read it... Then when I left I forgot to buy one... I hope there is one left next time I go...

Margo, got my issue yesterday. As usual, love everything.

Woo-hoo, Thanks for including my thoughts and blog info on my favorite antique malls in Kentucky! In my many years as a writer we used to go to stores when friend's books were out on the shelves and face them out - so I thought I'd try it at Barnes and Noble for FMS!

Got my copy today... I will be worthless for a few days, while I read it from page to page. I am always afraid I will miss something. Love the drawers on the wall. I will be trying that as soon as this 100+ degree heat moves on.

Finally have mine. I'm off for the next 4 days so guess what I'll be doing--sitting in my chair going over it page by page!! Good luck ladies in your quest--I know it'll be worth it.
