I have a long list too. I have had a lot of health troubles and have not been to a auction or open air flea market for about a year and a half so I am more then ready to go shoping this spring. I will be looking for things to turn into birdhouses or decorate birdhouses, old granite pans for planters, chairs, spindles, old bottles, glass beads, cutter quilts and chennile bed spreads and always stuff to paint on. Oh and new ideas of stuff to make so I can add more to my list :^). Diana

Every year my sister and I look for things to "junktify" the Christmas Tea, we decorate for...we look and plan all year, lol. We are looking for vintage toys, anything rusty (we can add bling, too, or make into a cloche) For the house, we're looking for pretty soft linens and cool ways to display things and outdoor garden stuff! Good luck hunting this spring Diana, hope you stay healthy!

I don't have anything in mind yet. I just love to go look and see what strikes my fancy but garden items/art are always on my list. Getting nicer here so GS should start soon--hurray!

Items a.k.a. junk for my tank garden and something for the path...lots of old brick would really, really be awesome! I'm going to pick up some free doors and a couple of bedframes someone is gifting on freecycle on Sun. They should work great in the garden.

Right now I'm feeling like I've got it all... except a camera that talks to my computer...
I've been working on getting rid of stuff - I've been following everyone's info on ETSY and hoping to maybe sell some of my cool vintage stuff from there. DIL claims she will help with that but I'm not holding my breath...
I'll answer the question "What are you hoping to find?" in a few weeks. We have somewhere around a week left for someone to redeem the house we won in the tax sale last year (March 26, 2010) then we can APPLY for the deed. Then when we get the deed we can 'possess' that house. It could be a diamond in the rough or it could be a real disaster. We have only been inside it for a couple minutes. Did I mention it was dirt cheap? It comes with about a half acre+- It is right next door to the ugly little cottage (which we own) & it has almost an acre of yard - all fenced - some good fence some not so. Our garden is behind the ugly little cottage. We will be fixing up the tax house for us to live in. I would love to fix up the ugly little cottage for sewing studio/classes - but it is a low priority for a while. Maybe do something like the Sweat Shop Cafe in Paris - junktique/flea market style. I've been putting a LOT of thought into that for some time. We are reserving any resources for the other house though and both are very low budget. There are some original old metal kitchen cabinets in the tax house. BIL has offered to paint them with his car painting equipment - we don't know if the drawers will work or how much damage there is. Any idea how to get them working? The cabinets are rather dingy white right now - aqua - pink - white??? The houses are from the 1950s. I'm sure that tax house will be FULL of surprises.
I would love to blog what we do with those houses. I'm looking to buy an inexpensive camera. Any suggestions.

Hoping to find some barn wood to build furniture. Seems it sells for outrageous prices here which makes no sense since there are old falling down barns everywhere. Any kind of architectural salvage as that is my passion.

my list would be a big estate sale on a farm with tons of buckets, wood boxes, nice old tubs and pails and maybe a dismantled porch and lots of suprises.......and everything from the attic drug out into the light...maybe they had an eccentric pack rat in the family long ago who piled up all ther goodies in a shed on the place.....
.. i really l need lots of neat cheap stuff and some real good stuff too..
or a good picker who could get out and buy easier than i can seem to.....

I have a 19 inch wide, 31 inch tall, 6 inch deep hand made drawer unit.
The 40 smaller drawers are 2 3/4inch X 4 3/4 inside. There are two bigger drawers across the bottom. This is made of plywood. It is painted blue. The old wooden spools for knobs are painted white. It is pretty heavy. Is there a way to get pictures off a cell phone on to the computer?Posted 2 years ago # -
Would love to find a couple of wood filing cabinets.

I agree with Ann! I went to a sale like that several years ago, it was a old farm house that had been in the same family for over 100 years. There was so much stuff they pulled out of the barns and sheds and had in piles everywhere. The auctioneer said look in the piles and lay out anything you want to bid on. I pretty much wanted it all :^). It was sad that no one from the family was keeping the house but great that they were selling the stuff. Our truck was so full that day my husband keep telling me if you buy anything else I'm going to have to leave you here. Diana

Copper, Yes you can send your photos to your comp. Select the image that you want to send & email it to yourself. It's a little easier if you put your email in your contact list. Sorry, I'm not good at explaining things

Ann, in keeping with your question of what would be cool fun stuff to find for Projects/booths, I like so many of the things already mentioned. I am on a quest for cool old primitive country pieces like pie safes and cupboards, etc. (with reasonable prices being the operative words that are keeping me mainly dreaming instead of purchasing!)
I purchase any rusty, cool garden pieces when I find good deals on which can range from plant stands to garden furniture to funky things to go in a garden. I'd like to find some components to build some fun potting tables. I've seen yours on your store website and I've experienced drooling adoration for what you guys create! Love your work!
Finally, I'm always on the lookout for cool vintage jewelry especially enamel pins from the 50's to 70's. They are hot right now and go for some pretty amazing prices on Ebay now. Here in Texas we also sell "vintage" (i.e. old and worn) cowboy boots so I grab any size I find that's in decent condition and sell them quickly!Posted 2 years ago #
