A friend is tearing down an old gray barn and is KEEPING the wood!!!
Any repurposing ideas for booth resale items? Any pictures?
The picture I am posting is NOT the old barn...but it is beautiful.

Well my sister's husband came across a lot of barn wood. He made tons of picture frames, shelves and such--so many she was ready to scream. I do like the look of them though--very rustic. Good luck and show us what you come up with.

PS love the picture of the old barns--don't you just love them.
JD made cute wooden seats with some that we have. Bluebird houses. I had JD make a couple with the bent silverware to hang stuff on. They turned out cute...
Oh my gosh, I LOVE salvaged barn wood!! Here's my wish list of crafts:
1. bench (unless not study enough)
2. picture frame
3. frame with mirror - my favorite!! Love that look, and I have seen them in shops for $100 or more...especially if splashed with some paint with the wood showing through
4. Hanging shelf
5. Sign - attach ribbon or twine to back for hanging, stencil/paint your favorite saying..."Mom's Kitchen", etc
Please let us know what you do, & take pics!!
We had an old shed one time - leaned real bad... it was sort of held up by a tree and the bottom of it was pretty rotted out. It had barn paint red over white or white over red - can't remember... hasn't even been that long.... Anyway, when we took out the shed, my son (who was 10 or 11) and I made some bird houses. I cut 'em and he assembled. We used the ugly/badly weathered bottom pieces for the fronts for some and some had the ugly weathered pieces for the back - I'm thinking he got $5 -$10 each and was THRILLED. Held them up with old wire - some just held up with holes already in them. Hubby had a bucket of old bent up nails, etc for perches. They were REALLY primitive. I'm thinkin' he bought blacksmithing tools with his cash.
This page on facebook has lots of barnwood ideas:

Can't see it, Barb. Says page is not available.
Shoot! I was wanting to see it, too. Have an old leaning shed that I love dearly that's gonna have to GO.
Hmmm, just try doing a search for Hemphill Barn on Facebook, maybe you can see it that way.
Barb,
I am not on Facebook, so could only view a few pictures. I like the ideas I did see, though.
