I am thinking of making these for some of my family for this up coming Christmas and thought now would be a good time to start printing off all the stuff and finding the journals and the jars..

That's a really cool idea. I think I'm going to do one for our classroom. Diane

  3. I would like to do one for my parents who are in their mid eighties - questions they could answer about when they were kids etc - I sure do need to think up questions though.

Cooperhead, there is an entire list of questions on the web site..you could just change the questions around a little bit.. to fit your needs.. I think it would be a great item to have and read years after your parents have passed on... so many times memories are forgotten or never ever told to other members of the family..

  6. I gave them a jar of jokes one year. I printed out jokes and told them to read one a day. They loved it but they read all the jokes the first couple days - just couldn't quit I guess. This might take them longer.

  7. what a fun idea.....i wish i had ask my grandfather more questions...like what was first grade like....who was your best friend in school, what did you play at recess, what did your father do, how did you meet grandma, what was your first job, favorite subject.....you could make a whole jar of them....

AnnOfGreenoak, My grandfather was 105 when he passed away.. and he had all the stories.. I could sit and listen to him for hours.. and now that you mentioned it.. I think I need to sit down and write down some of his stories.. so they are not forgotten for ever.. thanks for that tip..
