    Hello All,
I need some help coming up with ideas of what I could use to hang all of my necklaces off of. I want something that can hang on the wall by my dresser and won't tangle the necklaces. I had something that was perfect, but gave it to my mom instead, thinking I would eventually find something later that would work. No luck so far and I've been looking at trift stores, Goodwill, etc. for the last couple of months. Something I can repurpose and is cheap :)Any ideas would be much appreciated!!

  2. Some mount forks on a board or such and use that to hang necklaces from...

  3. Blogland is full of jewelry holder ideas--now if only I remembered where they all were. One that keeps popping up is a picture frame with wire cloth put in and then use hooks to hang everything, you could also use cloth and push pins. I have also run across tie holders that fan out that would work. When I run across them again I will make note. kim

  4. Here are a few of mine

Or you could simply screw some cup hooks on an old piece of wood and hang it by your dresser.

Or string a wire across an old frame and hang them from the wire.

    Hope that helps.

  6. I decoupaged paper to what was a damaged wooden sign, then glued old wood spools to it. I've been meaning to take a picture, so off I go!

  7. Well, I don't understand this, but sometimes my pics show and other times there is just a link. I hate when that happens! Actually, I posted, went and took the pictures and came back and edited my post to add the pictures. Sure wish they would just be visible without having to click on them. If anyone can explain why this happens, please enlighten me!

  12. HA!!! I love that spool idea & I'm going to steal it! I think I'll glue pattern envelopes on mine then the spools then hang tape measures and stuff I want handy.

  13. Ooo, Copperhead, I like the pattern-tape measure etc idea.

  14. I like the rake idea too--I had thought of it too--wasn't sure if it would take up too much space so was laying there last night trying to think of smaller rake like tools. A hand "claw" would be smaller... or if you could find a childs rake!

  15. All great ideas. I use a big old wood chest but really want something to hang items from too.

  16. well, not as innovative as all you folks, but I have a mannequin bust on my dresser that I hang most of my necklaces from.

  17. I have a curtain hanging on the back of my bedroom door. I took drapry hooks, the kind you put into the pleats, and hooked them through the fabric, then I hang necklaces on them. You can place them anywhere in the fabric and as few or as many as you need. I'll try to take a picture.

  18. Marge, that is so cute, love that idea.

Junx: The ones in the top pic are mine. Since I make jewelry, I seem to always have lots to choose from.
The other displays are ones I use at my booth spaces.

    Gigi:
    Love the rake idea too.

And the one with the patterns and measuring tape is great.

Hanging them really does keep them from tangling up.

how about making a star from old rulers, adding some "junker" pegs (maybe like big old thimbles, huge keys or locks, whatever you have hanging around in a tote or drawer?) and adhere them.

depending on the star size, you could get lots of coverage for hanging jewelry or just choose maybe one or two arms of the star and jazz up the other sides with pip berries, vines, etc.??? it could be free standing on a base, hanging from a wall, a central hook in the ceiling, wherever you want it to go.

gosh...i don't wear much jewelry besides my wedding rings but it's got me thinking of making one for my girls!! :)

  21. I saw someone use a huge picture fame with chicken wire, then added hooks....I'll see if I can find a picture!

I took an old yardstick and mounted hooks on it, then mounted it on the wall.
