Does no one want to buy them anymore!? I have about 3 or 4 in my booth. I've sold one in the last several months. Some of them are painted wood, white, off-white, etc. a couple are 50's looking retro.

I was just wondering if people don't want to clutter up their living space with them anymore when they can just stack them on an end table, or something.???

  2. I know---they don't sell in the booth and you can pick them up for nothing at auctions. I love them but maybe not everyone else. Mid century ones will sell on Etsy though.

Can you find other uses for these since they don't sell as mag racks? I like and use mine for it's original use.

Hmmm...at least it's not just me, then, hu? Guess I'll have to just stop and slap my hands when I see an interesting one at the Goodwill! LOL

I have one by my chair in the living room, one in my bedroom, and another one in my craft room. DH and I went on a small road trip day before yesterday and I got another one that the man 'threw' in with the other things we purchased. Guess I haven't ran through your booth or I would have more....lol

mostly now they have them in the bathrooms for the men..LOL I know we always had them at our house when I was growing up.. but folks do not use them much anymore.. I think our world now days is a throw away world.. we do not keep our mag. like we use to .. folks read a mag once and pitch it . not like the olden days.. where you would cut thing out and save for later..Or people do not buy mag much anymore.. everything is now on computers..

  8. I can remember old ladies that cut the pictures out of everything and glued them in a scrap book - I don't remember what they were called. I can remember looking at them and thinking they were pretty cool. But then again the pictures were a whole lot cooler to begin with.

  9. I'd like to have one that mounts on the wall that is angled at a slant.

Yep, figure you guys are right about it being more of a "throw-away" society today. You'll be happy to know that I passed up a cute black metal (mesh type) in the Humane Society Thrift Store today and it was $3.00!!! (I'm such a good girl! LOL)

  11. I'm with huggybear...my husband is the only one who uses the magazine rack (for the bathroom)! He gets his hunting/fishing mags and Cabela's catalogs! I do wish I could find a nicer one. The one he bought is soooo ugly!! I guess the only reason I do not use it is because I dont subscribe to mags and I read my books in a day !

oohh, maybe I'll spray paint it!

  12. HA HA HA... My hubby has one of those wall racks for his reading/puzzle collection... It sets there on the floor because he hasn't gotten around to installing it yet....

A lady I work with gave me a Longerberger magazine basket, she said she never used it and since I was moving into a new house and had nothing, Anyway I put it in the half bath that all the guests will use and filled it with old (I mean OLD) magazines like the 1943 Cosmopolitan that tells a woman the reason her husband isn't romantic anymore is because she is not taking care of her "feminine hygeine" They are sooooo funny! 14. That's a great idea. Maybe I'll accidently forget to pack my husband's rack when we move and get a new one and fill it with some old mag's and fun reading :)

LOL Attcha, Diane. Can you imagine if that article came out today!!? LOL

Funny story - my DD had both her DH's and her grandparents over to eat. After they all left she went into the bathroom and on the back of the commode was a stack of magazines. She said she looked and the top one was a Cosmo. The cover story in BIGGGGG letters? "Anal Sex? It's Not Just For Bad Girls Anymore"!!! LOL

She said she'd NEVER ask either set back again! LOL I told her not to worry. They probably hadn't gotten their hearts back beating again anyway! LOL

Second hand rose..that is soooo funny... we have three bathrooms and one is right off the foyer.. it is skinny , high or tallest and longest bathroom in the world.. you can stand and put both hands on the walls, the ceiling is about 11 or 12 feet high... and about 14 feet long.. LOL it was at one time before we rehabbed.. the foyer closets.. there were two with sliding doors and since I always have to use the restroom as soon as I hit the front door.. son thought it would be a good idea to make this a bathroom instead of closet.. and thank God he had done this.. however.. it is really more his than mine.. and the mag rack is there .. I have tried to dress it up with a nice picture over the toilet and fancy towels etc. but you know men.. never could understand why it took so long for them in there.. until I see they read the newspaper, mag. and what ever. LOL .. but at least the rack keeps the mags in order.. no playboys allowed tho.. to many grandkids stop by.. seems like Mag have so much adv. in them anymore .. you almost hate to buy one.. such a waste of paper..

  18. Magazine lady agrees... you wouldn't believe how many carts full of magazines get pitched a week - people aren't buying them much. There is so much more info on line.

I would rather look thru a magazine then search for it on the web. There's something about thumbing thru at your leisure with a hot cup of tea, curled up on the couch, instead of sitting at a desk typing, waiting for it to load, "ok that's cute, click, wait for it to load, ok that's cute, click, wait for it to load" ect. I had an awful time going thru Ki's site of the mag. Was much better in hand. When's the next one coming out? Oh, I just got some "new" mags for my bath, 1950 Todays Woman, how many ads do you need for slips? And a 1950 American Home, wood panaling, concrete houses, wringer washers, and pink bathroom fixtures. I just love the graphics. :) Diane
