i'm so happy with how my witch came out (granted, face could have been better painted) but she looks awesome and FREE!!!
i'm putting her on my old hopper bike, made a basket with a toto popping out...made 3 signs that say "i'll get you my pretty", "and your little dog, too" and "emerald city" with an arrow.
made dorothys red ruby shoes to put on a chair with a white and blue checkered pillow.
sooo wish i had a tin can to make the tin man, i have a scarecrow, no lion tho. was thinking about making little trinkets to hang on the chair with the shoes....like the heart, etc.
thought of making mini tornadoes from grapevine but figured no one but me would get the visual!! lol :)
any other ideas for me ladies?? i so wish i could take/post pics. i will try!

reminds me of a project daughter did in 4th/5th.

they took wire coat hangers, let the kids contort them in any shape they liked. affixed the hook of hanger to a piece of wood as a base, then took a piece of stocking....pulled over the wire and tied to the bottom. then painted them white. when dry....they added the designs-colors they wanted.
very unique, individual pieces of art!!! the hose held the paint well and it hardened. we still have it on daddys dresser to this day...she's in 9th now!! ;)

The art teacher at our school does a lot of paper mache. It's a big deal in fifth grade to do your mask and decorate and paint it. I always want to get my hands in it!

We did some pinata chickens one time - it was a mess but a whole bunch of fun.

it was to paper mache!! it's like the grown-ups mudpie!!
wanting to make an inexpensive wicked witch face for my outside display....opted for the mache.
while making the head i envisioned faux:
gazing balls
bee hives
pumpkins
candy dishes
baskets
the possibilities are endless and we all have the supplies one hand at any given time. there's plenty of products to make it withstand the elements for putting out in the garden, etc.....depends on how long you want to keep it out and where you place it, i guess.
it's so fun playing in the glue and getting all gooey!! felt like a kid.....there for a second, i saw me and my little kindergarten boyfriend squatting over the big mud puddle by the street, whipping up yet another un-edible creation and getting yelled at for getting dirty!! lol ;)
