I just loved your idea - simple, chic, elegant - people amaze me! Would look pretty with a nest and eggs and a few feathers under one or a big shell. I'm partial - I collect spheres, shells, sea glass, stones, architectural items, eggs, and feathers. My colors are cream, white, beige, robins egg blue, pale blush. This is on my to do list - THANKS! Jennifer

Love the cloches!!! Very well done! Redneck chrome? I love that too. I made a great holiday card and napkin holders out of duct tape last year. We need to have a duct tape contest...I might even make a whole mailbox out of duct tape!
Fun post!

I used the glass candle holders I mentioned, and made one fairy under glass so far. Nothing like what I imagined since I wanted to glue a glass like knob on top. And the next one will go on a glass saucer or silver bowl or something.

Holey crow! Gigi, these outfits are incredible. And yes, they do look like they'd be awful to wear. But, I'd do it for that much money, wouldn't you?

Back in "the day", when mini dresses were in and paper dresses were in the news, I got the bright idea to make a dress out of the left-over wall paper from my bedroom. (The beginning of my frugal recycling ways!) Blue stripes with big white daisies. Yes, it was the late 60s. Extra points for all you who guessed correctly.

The wall paper was a little stiff, in that it was one of the textured kind and really thick. This did not deter me in the least. And after an evening hunched over my trusty Singer, I produced one swell-looking mini dress. Getting it on and off was a bit tricky, it did not bend. I had to have someone stand on a chair and slide it down over my up-stretched arms, then hop off the chair and pull it down into place. This was back when girls still wore slips, so that helped it to slide down easier.

However, once I had it on, I had to be prepared to stand at attention all day, or for as long as I could bear wearing it. Not able to bend, there was no sitting down, bending over, or twisting too far around in either direction. And it was scratchy around the arms and neck.

But the neatest thing about it was if I stood up against my bedroom wall and lined up the stripes just right, I could make my body disappear. Nothing but my arms, legs and head sticking out of the wall. Ah, good times. Wish I had saved it. Or at least taken a picture. But I didn't. What a shame.

Thanks Gigi, for the memories.

These are fantastic! I've always wanted one to replace the plastic one over my cheesy hula girl souvenir (see photo). Now I know how to make one. Thanks for sharing a great idea. I always like the bonus of a good junk find also being practical. If I can make just one more thing non-dustable, I will consider it a huge plus. I'd like to make a bunch of these.

I was thinking maybe the candle stands I bought to just use the metal stands to hold bowling balls/gazing balls might make great bell jars. They're rounded on the bottom, you could add a glass knob or anything easily to it. Set it on a saucer to make a fairy jar. Right now I can't remember where I put the glass, but I did give the candles away on free-cycle :D

Take a junk fiend such as myself into her local restore and this is what I end up with!!! Grab some silicone glue, a few doorknobs, napkin rings...whatever else comes to mind...a glass light fixture and voila'! Cloche's happen!!!

Thanks for looking! :-)
